If you’ve stuck around my blog for a good while, you’ll know my thoughts on the Magnitone. It didn’t entirely agree with my skin but I still love the idea of a cleansing brush, so I’m still on a quest to find the perfect one for my skin. With the Clarisonic being a tad out of my current budget I thought I’d try the No7 cleansing brush.
The No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush is a battery operated cleansing brush offering 2 speeds and aims to gently exfoliate and deep cleanse the skin, removing more dirt, oil and makeup the cleansing without.
Normally, my skin is super oily with a tendency of becoming dehydrated. However, recently due to the weather change my skin has suddenly become extremely tight and flaky. So finding a good exfoliator is currently at the top of my to-do list and if a cleansing brush can do that job for me at the same time as cleansing, I’ll be thrilled.
After the messy experience of using my Magnitone, I decided to not risk covering my bathroom is splatters of cleanser and used this one in the shower. One thing to note about this brush is it’s not waterproof. It is, however, water resistant meaning as long as it’s not under the direct stream of water you should be fine using it in the shower. To test it out, I again fell back on my trusty Biore Charcoal cleanser since I know how this product reacts to my skin really well. I started to apply my cleanser all over my face and focused the cleanser on my forehead and nose where I’m currently experiencing the most flakiness and my chin where I primarily have blackheads and breakouts.
I wanted to try both speeds but quickly decided the fastest speed was just too much for my skin. However, the slowest speed was much better, although I still wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with super sensitive skin. Other than that I think that is great for a good exfoliation and deep cleanse. This left my skin really smooth and flake- free, plus my makeup went on like an absolute dream after using this. Overall, for my skin, I find this a little harsh for my face to use on an everyday cleansing basis. However, as a once a week deep cleanse, I think this is great.
Have any of you used a facial cleansing brush? What are you thoughts on them? Do you think they’re necessary?
