My One True Love: YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara

DSC03557

A couple of years ago if you’d told me a mascara would become one of my most beloved things, I would have laughed and then slowly backed away from this clearly crazy person. But alas, it has happened. I’ve been using this YSL mascara for a while now and I thought it was about time for a full review on it.

So let’s start from the beginning. The idea behind the mascara is to achieve a false lash effect with just one coat and I have to say I think this achieves everything I was expecting and so much more. YSL Mascara’s pride themselves on their triple-film complex. A coating film to provide intensity, a conditioning film to achieve the perfect curve and a fixing film for longevity. Not only this but the Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara also contains 4 essential oils, which over time improves your natural lashes flexibility, length and durability. To achieve the full volume false lashes are so well loved for, the brush tip contains nylon fibres which coats your natural lashes and really amps up the intensity.

DSC03558You’ll love it if:

  • You like LOTS of volume in your lashes.
  • An easy to remove formula.
  • Long wearing mascara that doesn’t smudge or flake off.

You may not love it if:

  • You like really natural lashes.
  • You’re looking specifically for length.
  • You aren’t prepared to pay the hefty price tag.

Have any of you tried this mascara? What do you think?

  1. Totally agree… this mascara is absolutely beautiful! My only issue with it is that it starts to clump up in 3-4 weeks… other than that, it is defo the holy grail of mascaras 🙂
