What happens after the happiest day of your life? A brand new chapter begins, filled with excitement and wonder. One day, you’ll look back, and you’ll think you were a whole different person before you were married. After the big day, there are a few things that I recommend you do and start to think about. Remember, ahead of you lies and brand new set of experiences.
Go On A Honeymoon
I know most people book their honeymoon before their wedding. Sometimes the groom books it as a surprise for the bride. You can go anywhere but I recommend selecting a place that is on your bucket list. That way you can make it a time that you will never forget. You should also certainly try to get the honeymoon suite no matter what hotel you’re staying at. This usually means booking far in advance.
Some people also hold off on the honeymoon. A wedding is expensive and if the proposal was sudden, you might not have a lot of money saved up for both. Instead, you have a delayed honeymoon and head home after your wedding. But you shouldn’t forget about it. A honeymoon is certainly something that every couple should get to experience. Protect The Dress
After your wedding you’re not going to get rid of the dress. Perhaps you have a vision that one day your daughter might wear it at her own wedding. Or maybe you just want to keep it safe as a treasured memory. The best way to preserve a wedding dress is to take it to a professional laundry services shop. They’ll clean it and store it the way it needs to be to keep it safe. One day, years from now you can take it out and show it to your children.
Look At The Pictures
A couple of weeks after the wedding, you’ll get the pictures. It’s a great chance to relive the wedding all over again. If you’re just in the process of planning your wedding and you want to save money, don’t hire a photographer. Put disposal cameras at each table at the reception and you’ll get some great snaps to preserve the day forever.
Start Saving For A Home
Once you’re married, that’s the time people start to think about buying a home together. But, after the expense of a wedding, you won’t be able to do it right away. It will take some time to get the money together. You should work on planning a budget so you can save for a deposit on your dream home.
Planning A Future
Lastly, you should start to think about the future. You may already want to think about saving up a college fund for your future children. Or, saving up for the delayed honeymoon. It certainly pays to start thinking about future finances as early as you can. That way, you’ll always be prepared.
Whatever you do, I’m sure you’re going to have a great life, with the one you love.
